Three firms were invited to interview; <br /> Michael Hining Architect,Chapel Hill;O'Brien-Atkins,Research Triangle Park; and Piedmont Olsen- <br /> Hensley, Raleigh, NC. Interviews were held on September 10, 1993, with a subsequent <br /> recommendation of Michael Hining Architects. The selection committee included John Link,Jr.,Rod <br /> Visser, Wilbert McAdoo, Paul Thames and Pam Jones. <br /> Highlights of the project include: <br /> ♦The Maintenance Facility; <br /> •The computerized fueling station; <br /> 4A vehicle autobath, as funding allows; <br /> ♦Relocation of the present access road; and <br /> •Minimal renovation of the existing garage building Into a maintenance/storage area. <br /> Mr. Hining has submitted the attached fee proposal (attachment 2) which provides all services <br /> necessary to accomplish the scope of work cited In the RFP for a sum of$88,500, including the cost <br /> of reimbursables. Further, you may recall that although the Town of Hillsborough and the County <br /> agreed that it was not feasible to co-locate the two maintenance facilities, there was agreement on <br /> the shared use of the fueling facility and the investigation of potentially shared parking areas. The <br /> architect has been advised of this and is prepared to explore the possibilities. <br />
