Earlier this <br /> year, Orange County received a Survey and Planning <br /> grant from the State for preparation of a manuscript <br /> for the inventory publication. <br /> To estimate the projected cost of layout, editing, and <br /> printing the inventory publication, a county-wide <br /> inventory prepared by the the Pitt County Historical <br /> Society, Inc. was used as a model. Pitt County was <br /> able to produce 1500 copies of a very attractive, <br /> award-winning book for a similar amount ($58, 000 <br /> including writing the text) . <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends that the State Grants <br /> application be submitted in the amount of $48, 000. <br /> for the graphics, layout, editing, and printing of the <br /> Inventory of Historic Architecture and Archaeological <br /> sites. <br />
