2 <br /> Grade 57 . The position would report to the <br /> Facilities Supervisor and be responsible for <br /> facilities inspection, set up, routine maintenance <br /> and some activities supervision. <br /> The continuing need for the position arises from <br /> the additional Recreation and Parks facilities <br /> which have opened over the past years. These <br /> include Fairview Community Park, Homestead <br /> Community Center, the Efland-Cheeks Community <br /> Center and Playground, and the walking track at <br /> Orange High School. (Personnel costs for setting <br /> up and maintaining the community centers are <br /> partially recouped through rental fees charged for <br /> the use of these facilities. ) <br /> Among other things, the proper management of these <br /> facilities requires that playgrounds and play <br /> equipment be inspected daily and maintained in <br /> accordance with the National Safety Council's <br /> recommendations. Also buildings are checked for <br /> cleanliness, proper maintenance and equipment <br /> set up for daily and evening activities. The = <br /> responsibilities of this position are not seasonal <br /> or short term. The facilities must be maintained <br /> year-round and available for public use seven days <br /> a week. <br /> The net additional cost to establish the position <br /> as Permanent Full Time is $8,971 . <br /> 2. Recreation Program Assistant - Athletics and <br /> Special Events <br /> This is proposed as a Permanent Part Time position <br /> ( 30 hours) of Recreation Program Assistant at <br /> Salary Grade 57 . <br /> The position would report to the Athletic <br /> Coordinator and be responsible for participant <br /> supervision, crowd control, first aid, and <br /> maintaining safe playing fields and gyms for <br /> athletic activities, among other things. <br /> This position also will provide support for <br /> special events and activities such as the Senior <br /> Citizen Picnic and Thanksgiving Dinner, Senior <br /> Games, Saturday Teen Open House, Tennis <br /> Tournaments, Fishing Rodeo, Bike Rodeo, Hog Day <br /> and other special activities that take place at <br /> various locations. <br /> This position is necessary to implementing these <br /> programs safely and effectively.
