Whitaker was made possible <br /> by the joint effort of the N.C. League of Municipalities, the N.C. <br /> Association of County Commissioners and the North Carolina City and County <br /> Management Association. It reflects the commitment made over four years <br /> ago to bridge the gap in our public school system for materials which deal <br /> specifically with local government as practiced in our state. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : That the Chair present, on behalf of the Board, a copy <br /> of this textbook to each school system and encourage their use in the <br /> classroom. <br /> II <br />
