10 <br /> Training And Development Calendar Fall 1993 <br /> 11/2/93 Communicating With Others <br /> 8:30 am-12:30 pm <br /> 11/23/93 & 11/30/93 Leadership For Supervisors <br /> 8:30 am-12:30 pm <br /> 12/07/93 Managing Employee Performance <br /> 9:00 am-12:00 Noon <br /> Each module introduces the framework for the topic and employs individual exercises, active group <br /> participation, and skill practices to enable participants to learn from these sessions. Self assessment <br /> instruments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory and Kenneth Blanchard's Leadership Behavior <br /> Analysis will be used. All classes will be held in the Government Services Center Meeting Room, and the <br /> instructor will be Cornelia Moore. Minimum enrollment 10. <br /> 10/05/93 & 10/19/93 Principle-Centered Leadership: This one-day course (offered in <br /> 8:30 am-12:30 pm half-day format) is based on Stephen Covey's The Z Habits a Highly <br /> Effective People and Principle-Centered Leadership. Skill-building <br /> Government Services topics will include patterns of organizational excellence, leading by <br /> Center Meeting Room principles, methods of positive influence, and ten qualities of <br /> leadership. Participants will have an opportunity to develop an <br /> action plan for future success. The instructor will be Minis Howard <br /> Davis, the consultant who recently taught the IM classes. Class size <br /> limited to 25. <br /> Personnel Policies And Procedures <br /> 09/22/93 . Effective Disciplinary Action: While no one likes to take <br /> 10:00 am-12:00 Noon disciplinary action, this course presents a "how to" guide for <br /> supervisors in taking effective disciplinary action to improve <br /> Government Services employee performance. Topics will include Orange County's <br /> Center Meeting Room Disciplinary Procedure, the causes of disciplinary action, disciplinary <br /> action based on work performance or personal conduct, and the <br /> employee appeals process. The instructor will be Elaine Holmes, <br /> Personnel Director. <br /> 10/26/93 WPPR For Supervisors: This workshop reviews key WPPR <br /> 9:00 am-11:30 am concepts such as the purpose, elements, and process of WPPR, <br /> including merit increase decision-making. This workshop will assist <br /> Government Services you in setting work objectives and performance standards and <br /> Center Meeting Room provide you with tools to make the WPPR process work more <br /> effectively for you and your employees. Discussion and questions <br /> will be encouraged. The instructors will be Elaine Holmes, Personnel <br /> Director, and Cornelia Moore, Human Resources Analyst. <br /> 6 <br />
