061
ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT
MEMORANDUM
TO: MARVIN COLLINS
Planning Director
FROM: DAVE STANCIL, AICP cs
Planner II-Comprehensive
DATE: August 6, 1993
SUBJECT: CP-4-93, WATERSHED-RELATED AMENDMENTS TO THE TEXT OF
THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN, LAND USE ELEMENT
Please find attached CP-4-93, an amendment to several sections of
text and maps in the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive Plan.
This amendment revises sections which must be updated in order to
be consistent with Z-7-93 (New Watershed Protection, Overlay
Districts ) and the accompanying Zoning Ordinance text amendments
which regard water supply watershed plan updates/revisions - in
accord with the state's Water Supply Watershed Protection Act of
1989 . In keeping with our discussions on the subject, I have only
revised the sections of the plan that are necessary for consistency
with the watershed plan updates.
Since my July 9 memo, I have added two additional sections for
amendment. Goal 10 in Section 3 .5 deals with water supplies, and
additions and/or revisions have been inserted to update and clarify
some of the goal statements. The Hillsborough Township component
(Section 3 . 9) also needed a few clean-up revisions after review,
and these updates have been included in the attached.
New text that is proposed for addition to the plan is shown in
boldface and redate4. Text that is to be deleted is both preceded
and followed 1)y -the-phrase <DELETED>.
The County watershed map and the township component maps in the
Plan must •al-so be updated as part of this amendment. These updates
involve either drawing a revised critical area or simply labeling
"new" watersheds.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
copies: Gene Bell, AICP, Planner III-Comprehensive
Mary Willis, Planner III-Current
