As you know, we are the group that is tasked to <br />coordinate efforts of community service providers through our annual Human <br />Services Forum and reviewing and offering feedback on funding applications <br />from local nonprofits. <br />At our most recent meeting on May 21, 2007, the HSAC membership discussed <br />strategies for achieving a more diverse and active membership. One strategy <br />that was supported by all present members including BOCC liaison, <br />Commissioner Valerie Foushee, was to increase our at-large membership. To <br />that end, the Human Services Advisory Commission respectfully requests the <br />BOCC consider adding ar additional four (4) at-large appointments to the HSAC. <br />If this request is approved, we would actively recruit applicants that reflect the <br />__ <br />diverse needs of Orange County. <br />Thank you for your consideration.
