Her duties include planning and <br /> administering 40 plus education concerts around the state each year and working with North <br /> Carolina music educators to provide orchestral experiences for students from pre-school <br /> through high school. <br /> She pursued degrees in music education and clarinet performance at the University of Northern <br /> Iowa. At the University, she won the Myron and Ruth Russell Award and People's Choice Award <br /> at the Presser Foundation Performance Competition and had the unique experience of student <br /> teaching at Millais School in England and the American School of The Hague in The Netherlands. <br /> Ms. Baron's interest in arts management was sparked after working at the Interlochen Arts <br /> Camp and the Bowdoin International Music Festival. After graduation, she began with <br /> Orchestra Iowa in Cedar Rapids. In her five years with that orchestra, she played a key role in <br /> - the expansion of the Music in the Schools chamber music program to the Iowa City Community <br /> School District. She enhanced youth concerts with multi-media visual presentations and pre- <br /> concert trivia to engage students on a deeper level. <br /> David Glover,Associate Conductor <br /> David Glover joined the North Carolina Symphony as Associate Conductor in the 2014/15 <br /> season. Mr. Glover comes to the North Carolina Symphony from the Indianapolis Symphony <br /> Orchestra, where he served for two years as the Assistant Conductor, leading its Discovery, <br /> Family, and Side-by-Side Concerts. His duties with the North Carolina Symphony include <br /> conducting education and evening concerts throughout the state, as well as performances on <br /> the Triangle Pops Series and Young People's Concerts, along with pre-concert talks. <br /> He has led numerous orchestras including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble <br /> Orchestral de Paris, North Czech Philharmonic, Bulgarian Opera in Bourgas, and Hungarian <br /> Opera-Cluj. As a participant in numerous competitions, he placed in the semi-finals of the <br /> Bartok Opera Competition and was the youngest person to pass the preliminary round of the <br /> Cadeques Competition in 2008. In addition, Mr. Glover has held positions as the Ansbacher <br /> Fellow to the Salzburg Festival and conductor of the Indiana University All-Campus Orchestra. <br /> He holds degrees from the University of Georgia and Boston University in violin performance, as <br /> well as a master's degree in instrumental conducting from Indiana University, where he was <br /> named an Adjunct Lecturer in 2007. Mr. Glover founded and served as Artistic Director of <br /> L'Orchestra da Camera, Boston, which he led for its first two seasons. <br />
