Over the past three years, the Arts
Academy has hosted many professional musicians, poets, journalistic writers, and actors in the
classroom for a plethora of creative projects. Additionally,we have made trips to the North Carolina
Museum of Art,Ackland Art Museum, and Playmakers Theater.
Tell Your Story: a Spoken Word Curriculum for Creative Expression
Tell Your Story is a powerful week-long artist residency program developed by Arts Academy Director
and English teacher Michael Irwin and educator/artist Kane Smego.
