Four excellent poets were featured,
but highlights undoubtedly came from the open mic section; after the scheduled act didn't
arrive, and following some audience encouragement, someone known only as Toby
performed. His was a poem of unexpected and intense beauty: not bad for someone whose
last name nobody caught. The final act was American duo Kane and G Yamazawa, who
were just phenomenal. Their double act was intricately worded, immaculately rehearsed,
funny and powerful. Don't miss this, it's wonderful.
The Banshee Labyrinth, until 26 Aug (not 7, 14, 21), 2.50pm.
tw rating 5/5 1 [Elizabeth Jewell]
CET MORE TVV
SIGN UP TO THREEWEEKS FOR FREE I READ OUR YEAR-ROUND GUIDE TO CULTURE IN LONDON
OR READ MORE ABOUT: Banshee Labyrinth I Other Voices I PBH's Free Fringe
http://www.threeweeks.co.uk/article/ed2013-words-events-review-other-voices-spoken-word-cabaret-other-voices-pbhs-free-fringe/ Page 1 of 3
