1 <br /> APPROVED 1/24/2017 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> December 5, 2016 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, December 5, <br /> 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Building, in Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair McKee and Commissioners Mia Burroughs, <br /> Mark Dorosin, Barry Jacobs, (incoming Commissioner) Mark Marcoplos, (retiring <br /> Commissioner) Bernadette Pelissier, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Deputy County Manager <br /> Travis Myren and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair McKee called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. <br /> Resolution of Commendation for Commissioner Bernadette Pelissier <br /> Chair McKee read the resolution: <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION <br /> FOR COMMISSIONER BERNADETTE PELISSIER <br /> WHEREAS, the residents of Orange County elected Bernadette Pelissier to the Board of <br /> County Commissioners in 2008 and re-elected her in 2012; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Bernadette Pelissier was elected Chair of the Board of Commissioners in 2011 <br /> and again in 2012; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Bernadette has proven herself to be a dedicated and effective public servant who <br /> has gained the respect of all who have known her in both the public and private sectors; and <br /> WHEREAS, prior to her election as a Commissioner, Bernadette served on the Orange County <br /> Planning Board, Commission for the Environment, Special Transit Advisory Committee, <br /> Shaping Orange County's Future Task Force, the Carolina North Leadership Advisory Council, <br /> and also served in leadership roles as Chair of the Orange Chatham Sierra Club and Chair of <br /> the OWASA Board; and <br /> WHEREAS, during her tenure as an Orange County Commissioner, Bernadette Pelissier has <br /> shared her talent for leadership and public service through her work on numerous committees, <br />
