- provision of referrals for temporary housing, <br /> mobile home donations, and local mobile home <br /> -dealers; <br /> - matching victims with persons donating used <br /> mobile homes; and <br /> - communicating with State housing officials to <br /> determine the availability of funds to assist in <br /> the relief efforts. <br /> This department provided three staff persons to <br /> assist in the recovery efforts. These persons <br /> contributed approximately 131 hours towards <br /> assisting 35 households. <br /> For approximately 3 - 4 months following the <br /> tornado, the Housing and Community Development <br /> Department intermittently received calls from <br /> persons seeking rental housing. <br /> L. N.C. Cooperative Extension Service, Orange County <br /> Center <br /> This department provided 4 employees, working <br /> approximately 20 hours, to distribute literature on <br /> food safety to victims without electrical power. <br /> As a result of their efforts, approximately 150 <br /> households were contacted. <br /> In addition to this outreach effort, a local 4-H <br /> Club sponsored a dance specifically to assist the <br /> victims of the tornado. They raised and donated <br /> $500 .00 to this cause. <br /> M. Orange County Dept. on Aging/CAT Program <br /> Coordinated Agency Transportation (CAT) , was made <br /> available to provide transportation for victims in <br /> need. However, no additional service was <br /> requested. <br /> 15 <br />
