However, due to the <br /> overwhelming amount of donations and the needs for <br /> the community-at-large, the Center began to also <br /> provide assistance to the non-tornado needy <br /> residents. <br /> As a result of these efforts: <br /> - over 100 tornado victims or families were <br /> assisted with clothing, furniture, bed, bedding, <br /> household items and food. <br /> - 15 emergency social service referrals were <br /> satisfied with furniture, clothing, etc. These <br /> included 2 families whose homes were destroyed by <br /> fire; 3 homeless families; and 4 families from <br /> out-of-state. <br /> - 21 acutely needy individuals were furnished with <br /> furniture, bedding and clothing. <br /> - 603 needy individuals were assisted with <br /> clothing. <br /> - 3 Rest/Nursing Homes received select groups of <br /> winter clothing. <br /> - Guess Road Prison Camp received men' s clothing. <br /> * Because of the magnitude of remaining clothing, upon <br /> closure of the Center, three truckloads of summer clothing <br /> were shipped to Goodwill Industries and the Vietnam <br /> Veterans Association. <br /> K.
