- utility deposits, <br /> -duel oil, <br /> medical assistance and hospitalization, and- <br /> mental health counseling. <br /> All emergency assistance cases have been closed; <br /> however, if additional assistance is warranted, <br /> these cases are subject to reopening. <br /> More than 175 volunteers dedicated their time to <br /> assisting the tornado victims at the shelter, <br /> delivering food to the tornado site on the <br /> Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) and at the Service <br /> Center. They contributed in excess of 2800 hours <br /> of service. <br /> The Orange County Red Cross received just over <br /> $100, 000 in financial contributions and in-kind <br /> donations. These contributions included $19,664 .00 <br /> received from credit card donations called in from <br /> Orange County residents through the toll-free (800) <br /> number at National Headquarters. Total expenses <br /> for tornado relief efforts in Orange County were <br /> $90,900. 35. All donations of clothing, household <br /> items, and furniture were delivered to the <br /> Distribution Center. <br /> H. Fairview Baptist Church <br /> Through an all-volunteer effort, Fairview Baptist <br /> ' Church provided food, clothing and monetary <br /> assistance to victims of the tornado. The church <br /> collected $37,700.29 in private contributions. <br /> These funds were used to assist victims with their <br /> immediate housing and utility needs, as well as the <br /> rebuilding of their homes. This funding provided <br /> assistance to approximately 48 households in the <br /> community. <br /> In addition to the financial contributions, <br /> Fairview Baptist Church also sponsored a food <br /> assistance program. Through this program, more <br /> than 500 people were fed. <br /> I. Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce <br /> At the time of the tornado, the Chamber of Commerce <br /> had only one employee, Fran Phelan. She provided <br /> assistance in the establishment, staffing, and <br /> 12 <br />
