C. Town of Hillsborough <br /> The Town of Hillsborough provided the following <br /> _assistance: <br /> - the Fire, Department provided initial emergency <br /> response which involved search and rescue; <br /> - the Police Department provided patrol and <br /> protection; <br /> - the Street Department provided search and <br /> rescue, as well as clearing debris from the <br /> right of way for emergency vehicle passage; <br /> - the Street Department cleaned public roadways <br /> and victims ' property; <br /> - the Administration Department provided <br /> assistance with the damage assessment and <br /> coordination of work assignments for volunteers; <br /> - the Water and Sewer Departments provided on-site <br /> assistance for broken lines and leakage; and <br /> - the Administration Department designated a <br /> representative to serve on the Unmet Needs <br /> Committee. <br /> The Town of Hillsborough provided backhoes, dump <br /> trucks, garbage trucks, front-end loaders, a brush <br /> truck, a drott, and a motor grader to assist in the <br /> debris clean-up and removal. Forty-one town <br /> employees, contributing approximately 1,865 hours <br /> of service, assisted in the relief efforts. The <br /> Town of Hillsborough incurred approximately $48,000 <br /> in expenses as a result of the assistance provided <br /> and solid waste disposal costs. <br /> D. Joint Orange-Chatham Community Action (JOCCA) <br /> JOCCA served as the outreach liaison for the <br /> Tornado Disaster victims. They coordinated <br /> services with DSS, OCIM, and the American Red <br /> Cross. JOCCA provided assistance to 100 <br /> households in the affected area. <br /> A total of six employees were involved in this <br /> effort. These employees provided 304 hours of <br /> service (two full-time employees attributed 160 <br /> hours, and four part-time employees attributed 144 <br /> hours of service) . This staff time totaled <br /> approximately $6,092 .00 in personnel costs. <br /> 8 <br />
