Passmore <br /> Certified Statement TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough - 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill - 968-4501 <br /> Mebane - 227-2031 <br /> Durham - 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: Request approval to continue participating in the N.C. <br /> Department of Transportation's Elderly and Disabled <br /> Transportation Assistance Program (EDTAP) and the Medicaid <br /> Assistance Program (MTAP) for pregnant women and children. <br /> The voluntary program would provide a total of $ 25,796 to <br /> the Orange County C.A.T. Program for FY93-94 with $22,607 <br /> for EDTAP and $3, 189 for MTAP. <br /> BACKGROUND: The N.C. General Assembly has appropriated $2 ,000,000 <br /> for the special assistance programs to supplement other <br /> funds used for the elderly, disabled as well as Medicaid <br /> eligible pregnant women and children. <br /> Major program features include: ( 1) no local match <br /> requirement, (2) funds must provide additional trips, <br /> (3) only County's with an approved Transportation <br /> Development Plan (TDP) are eligible (Orange County <br /> has one) , (4) funds are not to purchase/lease vehicles <br /> or replace current funds, and (5) eligibility certification <br /> is done by the County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : Manager recommends approval and authorize the <br /> Chair to sign renewal certified statement. <br /> (Abstr#14 .doc) <br />
