Employee Assistance Program contract was <br /> initially approved by the Board of County <br /> Commissioners in February 1990. The EAP provides <br /> Orange County employees and their dependents with <br /> confidential face-to-face assessment and counseling <br /> services, 24 hour a day emergency service, referral <br /> to community resources as needed, coverage for any <br /> personal problems, and follow-up on all cases. <br /> From April 1, 1992 through March 31, 1993, 25 Orange <br /> County employees and their dependents accessed the <br /> EAP. This is an overall EAP utilization rate of 5 <br /> percent. HAI projects an overall utilization target <br /> of 5 to 6 percent based on HAI experience with <br /> similar municipalities. <br /> In addition to individual employee assistance during <br /> the past year, the EAP provided two critical incident <br /> debriefings, two stress management training sessions <br /> for EMS employees, and management consultation on <br /> various employee issues. <br />
