The Block Grant combined funds historically <br />provided to the Department on Aging, Department of Social Services, and. Joint Orange <br />Chatham Community Action Agency (JOCCA) to administer programs for rural and minority low- <br />income elders. A technical advisory committee of the program administrators -Aging, Social <br />Services, and JOCCA -convened by the Assistant County Manager has developed a proposed <br />Funding Plan for FY2007-2008. The Funding Plan has been reviewed and endorsed by the <br />advisory boards/board of directors for the three provider agencies. As a final step in the local <br />process, the Block Grant Funding Plan is presented to the Board of County Commissioners for <br />approval. <br />The State estimates for planning purposes that Orange County will receive $451,105 in FY2007- <br />2008, an increase of $9 066 from the previous fiscal year's grant as amended. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Home and Community Care Block Grant for FY2007-2008 provides <br />for a total of $451,105 in State funding to support a network of aging services throughout <br />Orange County. The required match is provided through in-kind contributions. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the Home and <br />Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan for FY2007-2008 in the amount of $451,105 and <br />authorize the Chair to sign the grant documents. <br />
