<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />Post Office Box 8181 <br />200 South Cameron Street <br />Hillsborough, North Carolina 27278 <br /> <br />January 18, 2017 <br /> <br />Dear Comrades, <br /> <br />At the Board’s December 13, 2016 regular meeting, petitions were brought forth which were reviewed <br />by the Chair/Vice Chair/Manager Agenda team. The petitions and responses are listed below: <br /> <br />1) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Jacobs that the Board and staff eliminate the <br />practice of attributing planning efforts to specific Board members. <br /> <br />Response: To be scheduled for discussion at a Spring 2017 work session as part of a review of board <br />policies and procedures. <br /> <br />2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Jacobs that the Chair and Vice Chair <br />provide the Board after the break with clarifications on Board policy regarding the Board <br />being represented on other boards by non-elected individuals. <br /> <br />Response: To be scheduled for discussion at a Spring 2017 work session as part of a review of board <br />policies and procedures. <br /> <br />3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner McKee that the County pursue detailed <br />information from GoTriangle on light raid expenses for 2014-15 and 2015-16; that <br />GoTriangle provide a monthly report to the BOCC on expenditures; that an arms-length <br />review of the light rail plan and financing begin immediately with reports to the BOCC <br />closely following; and that the budget for GoTriangle be featured on the County’s website. <br /> <br />Response: County staff has communicated requests for information to GoTriangle and has <br />shared information with Davenport & Associates, the County’s financial advisor to be included <br />in the review of GoTriangle’s financial model. <br /> <br /> Best Regards, <br /> Mark Dorosin, Chair <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br /> <br />Mark Dorosin, Chair <br />Penny Rich, Vice Chair <br />Mia Burroughs <br />Barry Jacobs <br />Mark Marcoplos <br />Earl McKee <br />Renee Price <br />Penny Rich <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
