5 <br /> <br />c. Local Government Review: <br />Staff transmitted the proposed <br />amendment(s) to the Towns of Chapel <br />Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough for <br />JPA and courtesy review the week of <br />September 24-26, 2016. No <br />comments were received. <br /> <br />d. Notice Requirements <br />Legal advertisement for the public hearing was run in accordance with the <br />provisions of the UDO. <br />e. Outreach: <br /> <br /> <br />3. FISCAL IMPACT <br />Consideration and approval will not create the need for additional funding for the <br />provision of County services. Costs for the required legal advertisement will be paid <br />from departmental funds budgeted for this purpose. Existing Planning staff included <br />in the Departmental staffing budget will accomplish the work required to process this <br />amendment. <br /> <br />D. AMENDMENT IMPLICATIONS <br />The amendment(s) will encourage more efficient and sustainable land uses, which in- <br />turn lessen public costs for services, promote diversity with respect to available housing <br />types, and promote the preservation of additional land area as open space. <br /> <br />E. SPECIFIC AMENDMENT LANGUAGE <br /> <br /> General Public: Staff held two open house meetings to review and discuss <br />options on proposed subdivision amendments on July 20, <br />2016. <br />Staff coordinated the release of a press release with the <br />Manager’s office advertising the time/date/location of the <br />open house meetings. <br />The first meeting occurred at 1:00 p.m. and was attended by <br />land surveyors and engineers who have gone through a <br />subdivision review with the County. The session was <br />attended by approximately five people. The second <br />meeting, which was open to the general public, was held at <br />5:30 p.m. and was attended by approximately five people. <br /> <br /> Small Area Plan Workgroup: N/A <br /> Other: N/A <br />7
