The park is located on the
north side of Interstate 85 at the
Orange-Durham County line.
The proposal requests reclassification of
the property from Rural Residential to
Twenty-Year Transition. The site lies at
the end of Howe Street, a minor local road
originating in Durham, and is adjacent
to the Cabelands of Eno River State Park.
The property is further referenced as part
of lot 54, Eno Township Tax Map 25 . The
proposed amendment would expand an
existing Twenty-Year Transition area
south of I-85 to include this property.
The applicants have recently acquired
municipal sewer service from the City of
Durham for the mobile home park, which has
several septic tank problems related to
inadequate spacing of tanks, some of which
date over 20 years in service. The
extension of sewer service was recommended
by the Health Department to remedy current
and possible future septic problems.
