Status Report TELEPHONE NUMBER- <br /> Hillsborough -732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill -968-4501 <br /> Mebane -227-2031 <br /> Durham -688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive a status report on the Job Training Partnership <br /> Act program activities. <br /> BACKGROUND: In July 1992 Orange County became part of the Tar Heel <br /> State Job Training Consortium with Randolph and <br /> Alamance Counties. Policies and program design for <br /> training programs in the three counties are under the <br /> auspices of the Tar Heel State Private Industry Council <br /> (PIC) . The Commissioners from each county appoint six <br /> individuals representing sectors of the community to. <br /> the 18-member PIC. The administrative entity for the <br /> three county consortium is Regional Consolidated <br /> Services, a Community Action Agency located in Randolph <br /> County. The agency oversees JTPA training programs in <br /> the three counties. <br /> Regional Consolidated Services compiled the attached <br /> report which describes the training programs and level <br /> of participation in Orange County since July 1992. <br /> Bobbie Vaughan, Orange County PIC member will present <br /> the status report. Janice Scarborough, Director, <br /> Regional Consolidated Services, will be available to <br /> answer questions. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : The Manager recommends that the Board receive <br /> the Report as information. <br />
