This family friendly festival has <br />focused positive national attention on Orange County and attracted thousands of visitors each <br />summer. Hog Day celebrates one of North Carolina's most important agricultural products, <br />pork, by hosting 30 teams of cookers who turn three tons of pork into slow cooked barbecue. <br />With rides for the kids, arts and craft displays, and a diverse selection of musical entertainment, <br />Hog Day has something for everyone. <br />Hillsborough Hog Day will be celebrated on Friday, June 15 and Saturday, June 16, 2007 near <br />Cameron Park School in downtown Hillsborough. <br />There is a Joint Resolution recognizing Hog Day before the General Assembly of North <br />Carolina. The resolution has passed the House and is under consideration in the Senate. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: None <br />REGOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached <br />resolution recognizing Hillsborough Hog Day for 25 years of barbecue and fun in Orange County <br />and authorize the Chair to sign the resolution on behalf of the Board of Commissioners. <br />
