3 <br /> ATTACHMENT <br /> C7015-5/93 <br /> EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TRAINING SPECIALIST <br /> GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: <br /> Performs intermediate professional work developing, designing, <br /> implementing and evaluating training programs; does related work as <br /> required. <br /> Work is performed under general supervision. <br /> TYPICAL TASKS: <br /> Assesses training needs; <br /> Develops, designs and evaluates all in-service training for <br /> telecommunicators; <br /> Conducts training in areas such as emergency dispatch, computer aided <br /> dispatch, incident command system, dispatch methodology training, CPR, <br /> new employee training, and specific standard operating procedures <br /> training; <br /> Provides preceptor hours to Telecommunicator trainees; <br /> Ensures training provided is in compliance with current and new laws and <br /> regulations; <br /> Develops and maintains the Standard Operating Procedures and drafts <br /> changes when necessary; <br /> Provides communications education to schools and community groups; <br /> Serves as communications public relations officer; <br /> Maintains all necessary records and reports; <br /> Performs related tasks as required. <br /> KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br /> Thorough knowledge of training methods and techniques; thorough <br /> knowledge of the methods and procedures of operating communications <br /> systems; thorough knowledge of Federal and State regulations governing <br /> communications; ability to present training programs orally and in <br /> written form; ability to develop, design and evaluate policies and <br /> procedures and training programs; ability to establish and maintain <br /> effective working relationships with County employees and departments, <br /> other agencies, community groups, media and citizens; ability to operate <br /> computers and audio visual equipment. <br /> EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <br /> Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation <br /> from a two year technical school or community college with major <br /> emphasis in communications or related field and at least two <br /> years experience as a Telecommunicator. <br /> SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: <br /> Within the first six months of employment must possess a valid Division <br /> of Criminal Information (DCI) certification. <br />
