2 <br /> the training functions for the vacant Assistant <br /> Telecommunications Supervisor position. These include <br /> in-house training for telecommunicators in areas such <br /> as emergency dispatch, computer aided dispatch, <br /> incident command system, dispatch methodology training, <br /> CPR, new employee training and specific standard <br /> operating procedures training. The position will also <br /> provide preceptor hours to Telecommunicator trainees. <br /> The position will be responsible for assessing the <br /> training needs and developing, designing and evaluating <br /> the actual training programs. The position will ensure <br /> that training is in compliance with current and new <br /> regulations. The position will also be responsible for <br /> developing and maintaining the Standard Operating <br /> Procedures and be responsible for community outreach <br /> and education. <br /> Personnel review of the classification of the training <br /> position indicates the need to establish a new class of <br /> Emergency Management Training Specialist at Salary <br /> Grade 66 to recognize the duties and responsibilities. <br /> The Salary Grade proposed for this class is the same as <br /> that assigned to the Telecommunications Shift <br /> Supervisor class and one grade higher than the <br /> Telecommunicator class at Salary Grade 65. <br /> With approval of the new class the vacant Assistant <br /> Telecommunications Supervisor position at Salary Grade <br /> 67 will be downgraded to the Emergency Management <br /> Training Specialist class at Salary Grade 66. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends the Board amend the Orange <br /> County Classification and Pay Plan to add the class of <br /> Emergency Management Training Specialist at Salary <br /> Grade 66. <br />
