In the context of <br /> right sizing and determining the best use of available <br /> resources, EMS reviewed the current assigned functions <br /> for this position and assessed the needs. <br /> As a result of its review, EMS realized that the need <br /> for a training specialist was higher priority than <br /> having an Assistant Telecommunications Supervisor. <br /> Presently there is a training function for <br /> telecommunicators being carried out by one of the <br /> Telecommunications Shift Supervisors on a part time <br /> basis. There is a need for the training function to be <br /> full time and for the Telecommunications Shift <br /> Supervisor having the training function to re-assume <br /> full time shift supervisor duties. The duties and <br /> responsibilities of the vacant Assistant <br /> Telecommunications Supervisor have been split between <br /> the Telecommunications Shift Supervisors, the <br /> Telecommunications Supervisor and the Director of <br /> Emergency Management. <br /> To respond to the need for a full time training <br /> position and a full time Shift Supervisor, EMS <br /> reassigned the vacant Assistant Telecommunications <br /> Supervisor position to training duties. EMS submitted <br /> a revised position description to Personnel reflecting <br />
