IX. Placement Goals and Timetables <br /> Orange County is committed to the ideal of achieving <br /> representation of minorities and women in the workplace <br /> at least proportional to the recruitment area labor <br /> force. To this end, the County: <br /> -Seeks to maintain current levels of representation <br /> of minorities and women in EEO categories where no <br /> underutilization currently exists and <br /> -Establishes goals and timetables for each EEO <br /> category in which underutilization of minorities <br /> and/or women is indicated by the utilization <br /> analysis. <br /> Using the Orange County work force and recruitment area <br /> labor force. data, Personnel calculated projected goals <br /> to provide utilization of minorities and women <br /> equivalent to the indicated recruitment area labor force <br /> availability. These goals were then reviewed with <br /> involved departments heads to assess anticipated hiring <br /> opportunities based on past termination experience. <br /> Chart 4 shows the final projected goals and timetables <br /> for the four EEO categories in which underutilization <br /> was identified. <br /> -23- <br />
