.93
eieta
May 23, 1993
The Board of Alderman
Town Hall
Carrboro, North Carolina 27510
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:
This letter concerns the request for rezoning the Hogan Lake
Farm property.
I was born on a farm on Homestead Road that has been in my
family since the 1700's and I continue to make this my home.
I am pleased to support the request for rezoning.
Yes, the farm and lake are beautiful properties and I have many
happy memories of playing there, learning to swim, camping, ball
games, class picnics, etc. Bill and Bob have been most generous
as was their Dad, Henry, their uncles, Hubert, Glenn and Jack and
their grandfather, Clay. Their roots go deep! This property is
their inheritance and I know that their desire is to develop it
to be an attractive area. They care! Growth is here. We, in this
area, are no longer country and I, for one, believe that there is
too much control on land use and development. At some point we must
trust people and I think we should trust the Hogan's working in
concert with the developer to provide an addition to the neighborhood
in which we can all take great pride.
I do not consider their request to be out of character for the area.
Single family development of this type will prove to be benefical for
all concerned.
Again, I urge you to vote favorably for this rezoning request.
Cordially,
Ellen Kepley
John and Ellen Kepley
1309 Homestead Road
Chapel Hill, N. C. 27516
cc: Mr. Robert Hogan
Mr. Bill Hogan
RECEIVED KAY 2 5 1993
miv,7 OV
4°4'
