May 24, 1993
Sarah C. Williamson
Town Clerk
P.O. Box 829
Carrboro, NC 27510
Re: Hogan Farm Rezoning
Dear Ms. Williamson:
In accordance with Mr. Roy M. Williford's May 14, 1993 letter and my
understanding that the tape recording of the April 15th hearing was marginal, a
reconstruction of my comments at that hearing is as follows:
"Given the interconnected neighborhood roads policy, the lack of viable
thoroughfares around/to and from Carrboro/Chapel Hill in this area, and the fact
that traffic, much like flowing water, follows the path of least resistance, I am
extremely concerned about the potential impact of increased traffic pressure from
this and other developments on existing neighborhoods. I ask that the rate of
development be matched to the proactive development of services such as
transportation including roads and bicycle/pedestrian paths.
Has a stormwater model been run for the T-1&2 area/Bolin Creek watershed and for the
Lake Hogan Farm parcel in particular?"
Thank you for the opportunity to submit written comments on this issue.
Sincerely,
Sidney L. Harrell
204 Barington Hills Road
Chapel Hill, NC 27516
(919) 942-7978
RECEIVED VIM 25 1993
