MAY 21 '93 11:05 CARRBORO TOWN HALL P.4
4
children will go to Seawell . Cameron Court is
under construction. There will be 24 homes there .
It is less than a mile from Seawell , and if
they ' re not allowed to go to Seawell , they will be
bussed to another school . There are 24 new low
income units on Airport Road. Those children will
go to Seawall . Ironwoods is building Sty new
houses , and all those children will also go to
Seawall . That is a total of 213 houses , and
Seawell is already over capacity by 113 students !
If Lake Hogan Farm is to be upzoned to 2 . 1
houses per acre , that is a potential of close to
600 new houses , most probably starter homes with
young families and young children who will feed
into Seawell Elementary School . How can the
School possibly accomodate that number of
children? The infrastructure does not exist to
handle these kinds of numbers .
Both Wake and Durham County Schools are in
crisis now. This threatens our schools even more ,
as these people move to our area, too.
As a parent of young children in an already
overcrowded school and as a citizen of an
essentially ' rural areas I appeal to you NOT to
rezone the Lake Hogan ' Farm.
