After listening to the response <br /> of the Alderpeople of the town of Carrboro to my questions <br /> during our first joint worksession tonight , and after listening <br /> to the planning staff and Planning Board Chair , I realize that <br /> I have no place in any decision making process if I serve on <br /> your Workgroup. Therefore I feel as though I am being used to <br /> further the interests of the town of Carrboro, which are not <br /> necessarily my own best interests. <br /> In the worksession , I asked three questions to which I needed . <br /> answers in order to gauge whether or not I , as a member of your <br /> Workgroup , had a place in helping to shape the future of growth <br /> in and around my home. The only solid answer I received from <br /> anyone on any of my questions was from Alderperson Gurganus, <br /> and in his response he clearly stated his feelings about <br /> planning and rezoning. This says to me that the Board of <br /> Alderpeople of the town of Carrboro will always work from a <br /> political agenda, whether or not that agenda includes proper <br /> planning with weight given to the planning process. <br /> Since I have no vote in the town of Carrboro, I cannot engender <br /> change in your political arena. I can and will continue to <br /> work with my elected officials, the Orange County <br /> Commissioners, on matters concerning the planning and zoning of <br /> my neighborhood. <br /> I had hoped things would be different , but as they are not , I <br /> cannot in good faith serve on your Workgroup.
