13 <br /> evaluation in terms of their potential for meeting criteria of eligibility for <br /> inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places. <br /> After the field survey is completed, a final report will be prepared in <br /> accordance with guidelines provided by the Office of State Archaeology. The results of <br /> the archaeological survey as well as the architectural survey will be used in <br /> completing the fourth phase of Orange County's program, curently scheduled for 1994. <br /> That phase will consist of preparation of an Historic Preservation Element as part of <br /> the Comprehensive Plan and nominations for the National Register of Historic Places. <br /> With the assistance of a consultant, the Planning Department will prepare the Historic <br /> Preservation Element. The consultant will also prepare the National Register <br /> nominations. <br /> All phases will be subject to local funding approval as well as the availability <br /> of Planning and Survey Grant Funds. It should be noted that this application is for CLG <br /> Survey and Planning Grant Funds. Although Orange County has not been designated as a <br /> CLG, it will submit an application for such designation concurrently with this grant <br /> application. If CLG designation is not made, Orange County requests that this <br /> application be considered for non-CLG Survey and Planning funding. <br />
