2 <br /> NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> ON <br /> PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE <br /> ZONING ATLAS OF ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> AND THE <br /> ZONING MAP OF CARRBORO, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> Pursuant to the requirements of the General Statutes of <br /> North Carolina, Chapter 160A, Article 19 , Part 3 ; Chapter 153A, <br /> Sections 240, 323 , 343; Article 20, Sections 20. 5 and 20. 6 of the <br /> Orange County Zoning Ordinance; and Article 2 , Section 2 . 6E of a <br /> Joint Planning Agreement between Orange County and the Towns of <br /> Chapel Hill and Carrboro, notice is hereby given that a public <br /> hearing will be held at the OWASA Operation Center, 400 Jones <br /> Ferry Road, Carrboro, NC, on April 15, 1993 at 7: 30 p.m. for the <br /> purpose of giving all interested citizens an opportunity to speak <br /> for or against the following item: <br /> The proposed amendment to the Carrboro Zoning Map and Orange <br /> County Zoning Atlas is as follows: <br /> Z-2-93 LAKE HOGAN FARM <br /> An amendment to the Orange County Zoning Atlas is requested that <br /> would incorporate a proposed change to the Town of Carrboro <br /> Zoning Map. The proposal would rezone all or part of 10 parcels <br /> located in the Carrboro Joint Development Area as identified on <br /> the Orange County-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Joint Planning Land Use <br /> Plan. <br /> The specific parcels to be rezoned are identified as: all of <br /> lots 1, 2 , 3 , 24, 25, the portion of lot 4 west of Lake Hogan <br /> Road and south of the Buckhorn Branch of Bolin Creek, and <br /> approximately 5. 5 acres on the westernmost portion of lots 5 and <br /> 5A, of Tax Map 109 in Chapel Hill Township; and the portion of <br /> lots 31 and 31F south of the Buckhorn Branch of Bolin Creek, of <br /> Tax Map 23 in Chapel Hill Township. The total area is <br /> approximately 282 acres in size and is located on the east side <br /> of Old Chapel Hill-Hillsborough Highway north of Homestead Road. <br /> The property is currently zoned R-R Rural Residential by <br /> Carrboro, which allows a maximum density of 1 dwelling unit per <br /> acre. The proposed zoning is R-20 which allows a maximum density <br /> of 2 . 1 dwelling units per acre. <br /> All interested citizens are invited to attend this hearing <br /> and be heard. Public comment will be received during the public <br /> hearing. Following the close of the public hearing, evidence and <br /> comments presented will be examined by the Orange County and <br /> Carrboro Planning Boards for recommendation, and Orange County <br /> Board of Commissioners and Carrboro Board of Aldermen for <br /> decision. <br />
