The Board of Commissioners reviews
proposals to be considered at public hearing for
consistency with general County policy and presentation
format. One item is to be considered at the April 15,
1993 public hearing - Z-2-93 Lake Hogan Farm. The
rezoning requires amendment of both the Carrboro Zoning
Map and the Orange County Zoning Atlas.
Approval of the notice will permit advertisement on March
31, and April 7, 1993 as required by the N.C. General
Statutes. The rezoning application will require
notification of individual property owners, and the notice
must be mailed on or before March 26, 1993 .
The applicant has requested the rezoning of 282 acres
located on the cast side of Old NC 86, north of Homestead
Road. The Joint Planning Area Land Use Plan designates
the property as Carrboro Transition Area I. The
Transition Area I designation allows residential densities
up to 5 dwelling units per acre. The property is
currently zoned R-R (Rural Residential) which allows a
maximum density of 1 dwelling unit per acre. The
applicant proposes a rezoning to R-20 which would allow a
density of 2 . 1 units per acre.
RECOMMENDATION: The Administration recommends approval of the Notice of
Public Hearing for April 15, 1993 .
