Chapter 2: The Plan
$3
This plan shows the intersection of US 70 with'Faucette'.1V1ill and'Revere,Rd.
(1•)' The current coin laundry is drawn in because it was redeveloped after these 2003 photos were taken.
)' The intersection at-Faucette'Mill and Cornelius was re- worked on the southwest to reflect the closing
of Short Street. The right -of -way, added to the adjacent parcel opens the opportunity fora larger
building.
(3) The northwest quadrant shows complete redevelopment because the main parcel was for sale at the
time of this report.- Only a portion of the site is commercially zoned, so townhouses are shown on the
majority of the parcel. (4)!The southeast quadrant also shows complete redevelopment. Corridor
residents routinely mentioned the current development as detracting from the area due to the poor
appearance and questionable activities. Additional properties are incorporated because the property
owners have expressed interest in significant and cooperative redevelopment. !!Parking is designed for
single -story or mixed -peak multi -story development.
40
US 70/ Cornelius Street Corridor Strategic Plan 2007
