At our request,
RTD Associates did a preliminary analysis and have recommended replacement of the built up
portions of the roof. This includes approximately 5600 square feet of roof.
RTD Associates worked with us to replace the roof at the Central Recreation Center in Hillsborough,
with very satisfactory results. They have demonstrated strong expertise in the design and installation
of roofing systems and have worked with us to bring the project in within the budget allocated. For
these reasons, we are recommending that the Board accept their attached proposal for design
engineering and contract administration services in an amount of $3,275.
Funds to replace the roof are included in the Capital Improvements Plan ($50,000). It is anticipated
that the bids for roof replacement will be solicited within the next 60 days.
RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends approval of an agreement with RTD Associates, for
engineering design and contract administration services for the New Courthouse roof, in an amount
not to exceed $3,275; and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board.
