The Legislature has established a number of <br /> deadlines for submission of certain categories of proposed legislation , <br /> including an April 1 deadline for drafting of local bills . <br /> The County Attorney will make a brief oral report on legislative <br /> amendments needed regarding the County' s authority to enact a Human <br /> Rights Ordinance, and will respond to Board questions or comments about <br /> other potential legislation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board receive the <br /> report and provide direction to the Manager and Attorney regarding any <br /> legislative initiatives the Board may want to pursue . <br />
