NEW HOPE CORRIDOR ADVISORY COMMITTEE 2 <br /> • <br /> Charge of the Committee <br /> ► There should be a New Hope Advisory Committee to be charged with <br /> working with each of the four open space jurisdictions in implementing <br /> the adopted New Hope Corridor Open Space Master Plan to help: <br /> • in promoting the corridor, <br /> • in providing inter-agency communication, especially concerning <br /> common or joint problems or situations, <br /> • in providing a coordination focus for inter-agency relations with <br /> other agencies; Eno River State Park, the Wildlife Resources <br /> Commission, the Corps of Engineers, and Duke University in <br /> particular, and <br /> • in thinking concerning future financing for the New Hope Corridor <br /> Plan accomplishment. <br /> II. Committee Reporting <br /> ► The Advisory Committee should report any specific recommendations <br /> through the respective commissions advising governing boards from each <br /> of the four jurisdictions. <br /> III. Membership of the Committee <br /> • That the Advisory Committee should be composed of up to twelve (12) <br /> representatives. <br /> ► Selected by each of the following groups: <br /> • Duke University (one member) <br /> • US Army Corps of Engineers (one member) <br /> • Chapel Hill Greenways Commission (one member) <br /> • Durham City Urban Trails and Greenways Commission (one member) <br /> • Durham County Open Space Commission (one member) <br /> • Orange County Recreation &Parks Advisory Committee (one member) <br /> • Friends of the New Hope (two members, preferably one each from <br /> Durham and Orange Counties) <br /> • New Hope Corridor Land-Owners (four members, selected by other <br /> Committee members; strive for geographical balance between the four <br /> jurisdictions on these appointments) <br /> IV. Staffing of the Committee <br /> Staff assistance to this Committee shall be provided by the four jurisdictions <br /> according to Work Programs approved by the governing bodies. Any formal <br /> new initiatives or changes in requested staffing levels would likewise need to <br /> go to the governing bodies. Staff from the relevant Planning departments <br /> would notify the Committee of significant development proposals and of <br /> rezoning, public facility and transportation proposals in the New Hope Corridor <br /> area. <br /> November 30, 1992 <br />
