EVALUATION: This node is focused on the intersection of two major <br /> highways. It is also serviced by a spur of the Southern Railroad. <br /> _-_There are a number of existing commercial»uses - in the area and <br /> relatively little residential development. New commercial and <br /> industrial lises should generally be confined to the areas south of <br /> the highways in order to reduce negative impacts on Eno River State <br /> Park. - <br /> REFERENCE: E-3 (Duke Forest) <br /> LOCATION: US 70, NC 751, and Old NC 10 (SR 1710) <br /> PLAN CATEGORY: Commercial Transition <br /> EVALUATION: This node is focused on the intersection of two <br /> arterials and the collector road Old NC 10 . It is bordered on the <br /> south by a main line of the Southern Railroad. Existing land uses <br /> include commercial, and medium and high density residential . The <br /> node is within Durham' s 201 sewer planning area and is served by <br /> the Durham city water system. Land to the east of NC 751 and a <br /> small portion north of the Southern Railroad are part of Duke <br /> Forest and not included in the node. <br /> 3 . 10-17 <br />
