Funding for the <br /> stipend increases would come from ABC Board revenues. The Board of <br /> Commissioners delayed a decision pending review of information about <br /> compensation for various boards and commissions in other local <br /> government jurisdictions. <br /> The Clerk to the Board sent surveys to 18 other counties requesting <br /> information on what they pay citizens who serve on various boards and <br /> commissions. 14 counties responded, and the results are attached. Of <br /> the counties responding, ABC Board stipends for members range from $50- <br /> $150 per month/meeting, and $50-$200 per month/meeting for Chairs. The <br /> largest number of responses were received regarding compensation for <br /> Planning Boards, Boards of Adjustment, Health Boards, and Social <br /> Service Boards. The approximate average compensation per meeting for <br /> these boards is $23 , with many receiving mileage reimbursement as well. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: As the Board decides. <br />
