5 <br /> All the general public areas will be accessible to disabled <br /> vehicles and the rink seating has been designed so that people in <br /> wheelchairs will be located amongst the other seats about mid-rink. <br /> 2 . 2 . 3 Multipurpose activity center <br /> In keeping with the "Community" aspect of organisation, areas <br /> separate from the rink and pool have been designed to allow maximum <br /> flexibility of usage so that community organisations can hire meeting <br /> rooms etc for their use. The Center will also be available for educa- <br /> tional/business/ medical activities such as Adult Education classes, <br /> Dance/ballet classes, school athletics programs and training, and <br /> rehabilitation/physical therapy. It should be possible to extend usage <br /> to include flea markets, a community recycling center, social events, <br /> Day-care and Summer camp programs. <br /> 2 . 2 . 4 Fitness center <br /> This will have an area for arobics, weight lifting, general <br /> fitness (e.g. Treadmill, stair step etc. , ) at an estimated cost of <br /> $25, 000. <br /> 2. 2 . 5 Changing rooms and officials room. - <br /> There will be 4 mens and 1 womens changing rooms for the rink, 1 <br /> mens and 1 womens changing room for the pool, and one changing room <br /> attached to the "referees room" . <br /> 2 . 2 . 6 Office etc, Restrooms, maintenance areas. <br /> The center will have an engineering maintenance area, restrooms <br /> available to the public and an office from which the center staff will <br /> co-ordinate their services. In this office will be the controls for the <br /> center's sound system, lighting , heating and cooling systems. The <br /> building will be equipped with fire alarms, and a fire sprinkler <br /> system. The pool administration office will incorporate a first-aid <br /> base and a bathroom so that officials on duty can stay in close <br /> supervision at all times. <br /> 2 . 2 .7 Banquet room and snack bar. <br /> The snack bar will operate during most hours that the center is <br /> open. A "warming kitchen" will support outside-catered events such as <br /> parties, dinners, mini-conventions etc. <br /> 2 . 2 . 8 Community sports shop. <br /> This will initially stock ice hockey equipment but will be expanded <br /> to cover a range of specialist equipment relevant to the sporting <br /> activities that the center will host. Profit from this activity will be <br /> used to subsidize equipment used at the center and provide sports <br /> equipment for disadvantaged children and youths. <br />
