<br /> This comparison of new lots, new people, new density, anti new open space follows
<br /> the general format of the charts prepared by Marvin Collins in his "Rural Orange
<br /> Buildout" package.\ It compares the different consequences of development under
<br /> current conditions \(STATUS QUO) versus those recommended by the Rural Character
<br /> Study Committee (most recent sliding scale option) . As with Marvin's charts,
<br /> assumptions have to be- Made about how much of the remaining rural land gets
<br /> developed in what way. Three different charts describe the consequences of
<br /> using the Sliding Scale, with three different assumptions about the portion of
<br /> land that is developed under various options.
