Task Force was created in early <br /> 1992 to provide a forum for further discussion of issues raised during <br /> the school bond referendum development process involving the Board of <br /> County Commissioners and the two Boards of Education. Each Board <br /> selected two of its members to participate on this task force, along <br /> with the County Manager and the two school superintendents. <br /> The task force has met four times thus far. A brief summary of the <br /> major topics of discussion at each meeting is provided in this <br /> abstract. More detailed information from meeting records is included <br /> as attachments for the Board's information. <br /> February 11, 1992 <br /> Discussion of appointment of citizen School Bond Education Committee; <br /> development of lists of short-term and long-term issues of mutual <br /> concerns to the three elected boards. (see related information, pages <br /> 3-4) <br /> April 14 , 1992 <br /> Discussion of school funding equity; major roofing projects as part of <br /> CIP; cooperative efforts between schools and Recreation and Park <br /> agencies; joint high school planning; possible County ownership of <br /> school sites; impact fees. (see related information, pages 5-16) <br /> June 25, 1992 <br /> Discussion of school system categorization of funding requests; <br /> differences in school system program priorities; special district <br /> taxes; joint high school planning process.
