Replacement of large amounts of missing or deteriorated siding, trim, <br /> porch floors, windows, and gutters or architectural details when there is <br /> no change in materials and design of original. <br /> h. Re-pointing and other masonry repairs. <br /> i. Exterior lighting fixtures. <br /> j. Removal of asbestos or other artificial siding. <br /> k. Signs, other than real estate and political. <br /> 1. New roof coverings using shingles from pre-approved list. <br /> m. Installation of satellite dishes. <br /> n. Exterior paint removal. <br /> 11.3. Major Modifications. Major modifications listed below require a Certificate of <br /> Appropriateness approved by the Historic Preservation Commission. These <br /> activities are examples of building alterations, site changes, new construction <br /> or demolition which require a Certificate of Appropriateness. <br /> a. Exterior changes to the primary building or other structures on the <br /> property, not included in the normal maintenance and minor <br /> improvements list. Such changes include types or styles of windows, <br /> doors, porches, decks, roofs, and lighting fixtures. <br /> b. Alterations in exterior architectural details, such as additions or changes <br /> in style of porch railings, gutters, shutters, brackets, molding, <br /> gingerbread or other decorative work. <br /> c. Removal and/or severe pruning of healthy plant materials as well as the <br /> installation of new plant material which alters the character of the site. <br /> d. The installation on any structure, of vinyl or aluminum siding or of any <br /> other siding of a different style or material than the existing siding. <br /> e. The disturbance of designated archeological sites. <br /> f. The construction of any addition to an existing structure; such as the <br /> addition of rooms, chimneys, porches, decks, ramps, solar panels, and <br /> skylights, or any new construction. <br /> 14 <br />
