ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: May 15, 2007 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. <br />SUBJECT• Change in BOCC Regular Meeting Schedule for 2007 <br />DEPARTMENT: County Commissioners PUBIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT (S): <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Baker, 245-2130 <br />PURPOSE: To consider three changes in the County Commissioners' regular meeting <br />calendar for year 2007. <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br />Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br />the Regular Meeting Schedule. <br />The Board will consider amending its regular meeting calendar by changing <br />the locations of the 2 Budget Public Hearings -scheduled for May 31 St and <br />June 4t"and re-scheduling the Clerk's evaluation to a later date in June: <br />• Consider moving the May 31St Budget Public Hearing, at 7:30 p.m., <br />from the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom~to the Superior Courtroom <br />(upstairs from the F. Gordon Battle Courtroom), 106 East Margaret <br />Lane in Hillsborough; and <br />• Consider moving the June 4t" Budget Public Hearing at 7:30 p.m. <br />from the Southern Human Services Center to the Sonya Haynes <br />Stone Center for Black Culture and History, 150 South Road, UNC, <br />Chapel Hill, N.C. (rental fee has been waived); and <br />• Consider moving the Clerk to the Board's evaluation from June 4t" <br />Southern Human Services Center to Monday, June 18 at 5:30 p.m. <br />at Government Services Center in Hillsborough, NC' (prior to Budget <br />Work Session at 7:30 p.m.) <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The rental fee of $250 for the Stone Center has been waived. There <br />may be minimal costs associated with the hiring of a campus Public Safety Officer ($35/hr) to <br />
