3. Emergency Operations Members: <br /> A. Regular members shall be those individuals meeting the requirements set forth herein and <br /> in the Corporation's current Standard Operations Manual. <br /> B. Resource members shall be those individuals meeting the requirements set forth herein <br /> and in the corporation's current Standard Operations Manual, and who through <br /> profession, training, and/or experience possess abilities and/or knowledge which furthers <br /> the purposes and objectives of the Corporation. <br /> C. Provisional members shall be those individuals desiring to join the Corporation and who <br /> may or may not have prior training, experience, and/or knowledge that furthers the <br /> purposes and objectives of the Corporation. Provisional members may not hold office. <br /> Provisional members may serve on or chair committees in accordance with existing <br /> policy and perform such functions as requested by the Chief or by the Board of <br /> Directors. <br /> 4. Voting rights shall be vested in the active members of the Corporation for all matters which <br /> are subject to a membership vote by act of the applicable laws of the State of North Carolina <br /> and as provided herein and in the Standard Operations Manual of the Corporation. Active <br /> members will be defined as members who meet the membership requirements of their <br /> division(s) or are otherwise active members. Voting members may vote on the election of <br /> Directors unless otherwise provided herein. <br /> 5. In order that the membership rolls accurately reflect involvement in the Corporation, the <br /> Chief shall review the membership list at least annually, and prior to the annual Membership <br /> meeting,to determine whether members are in compliance with the existing requirements. In <br /> the event the Chief determines that members are not in compliance the Chief will recommend <br /> to the Board of Directors that Members not in compliance be removed from membership in <br /> the Corporation. <br /> 6. There shall be no discrimination in the admission, selection, or termination of members <br /> based on race, color, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or belief. <br /> Article III <br /> Meetings of Members <br /> 1. Meetings of the membership shall be held once each month at the location designated by the <br /> membership, and additional meetings may be held at such places as designated by notice, or <br /> as agreed upon by a simple majority of the members entitled to vote at any meeting. Any <br /> meeting of the membership may be attended by anyone. The membership reserves the right <br /> to have any meeting enter a closed session in which those present must be members of the <br /> corporation. A closed session may be called by a simple majority vote of the members in <br /> attendance at a meeting. <br />
