SOUTH ORANGE RESCUE SQUAD,INC. <br /> North Carolina <br /> Standard Operations Manual <br /> Subject: Membership SOM No GEN-001 <br /> Effective Date: February 8,2007 <br /> Revision Date: Authorization Signature: <br /> 4.3.1.11 All EMS Division members regardless of classification shall meet the <br /> following requirements: <br /> 4.3.1.1.1.1. Attend six(6)of twelve(12)EMS continuing education sessions per <br /> year. Outside training may be considered on a case-by-case basis. <br /> 4.3.1.1.1.2. Attend an Orange County Emergency Management approved OSHA <br /> class annually. <br /> 43.1.2. PROVISIONAL MEMBERS <br /> 4.3.1.2.1. Provisional Members of the EMS Division shall be defined as those <br /> individuals desiring to join the Squad as regular volunteer members,and who <br /> first must undergo a period of orientation,training,and gaining experience by <br /> working shifts and special events under the supervision of a training officer <br /> and/or preceptor. <br /> 4.3.1.2.2. Provisional Members may not hold office or chair a committee. <br /> 4.3.1.2.3. In order to complete Provisional Membership and obtain Regular <br /> Membership status, Provisional Members shall complete all requirements <br /> listed herein and in the current training manual utilized by division training <br /> officers. <br /> 4.3.1.3. REGULAR MEMBERS <br /> 4.3.13,1. Regular Members of the EMS Division shall be defined as those members <br /> desiring to serve as volunteer EMTs in Orange County on a regular basis who <br /> have completed a provisional period as determined by the appropriate training <br /> officer. <br /> 4.3.1.3.2. Regular members shall work at minimum of 24 hours a month for SORS <br /> EMS. <br /> 4.3.1.4. RESOURCE MEMBERS <br /> 4.3.1.4.1. Resource Member status is intended for those volunteers who wish to serve <br /> the Squad but are unable to comply with the Regular Member requirements. <br /> 4.3.1,4.2. Regular Members desiring to become Resource Members must have at least <br /> two(2)consecutive years of regular EMS experience in the Orange County <br /> EMS system. <br /> 4.3.1.4.3.
