Uniform guidelines 3.1.3—3.1.8 apply. <br /> 4.3.4. During summer months the following modification to the EMS Special Events Uniform <br /> may be made if the following conditions are met: <br /> 4.3.4.1. The forecasted high temperature for the day is greater than 85F and the event is an <br /> outdoor activity. <br /> 4.3.4.2. Approval of the EMS Assistant Chief for special events where heat stress and/or <br /> other environmental conditions for an indoor event could be mitigated by the wearing <br /> of the summer uniform. <br /> 4.3.4.3. Shorts or pants shall be one of the following: <br /> 4.3.4.3.1. EMS pants as specified in 3.1.3. <br /> 4.3.4.3.2. Navy blue bike patrol style shorts with an inseam between 6.5 and 8. <br /> (Shorts similar to the Olympic Hollywood shorts or the Olympic Phoenix <br /> shorts.) <br /> 4.3.4.4. Shoes shall be close toed and close heeled and should be a dark color. <br /> 4.3.4.5. Socks shall be worn. Socks shall be solid blue,black,white or grey. <br /> 5. PROCEDURES <br /> 5.1.
