SOUTH ORANGE ( r <br /> RESCUE SQUAD \ t G E RS S <br /> \111 Semper Aptus Muneris - Volunteers Since 1971 <br /> Resume of training and experience of the applicant in the transportation and care of <br /> patients: <br /> South Orange Rescue Squad(SORS) has been providing all-volunteer EMS and rescue services <br /> since 1971. <br /> All SORS personnel must meet or exceed the minimum training and experience requirements for <br /> their levels of service as outlined by the appropriate governing body. <br /> All SORS personnel must maintain or exceed the minimum amount of hours of practice and <br /> continuing education for their levels of service as required by the appropriate governing body. <br /> SORS currently provides"joint staffing" for 1 ambulance seven(7) nights/week in the Orange <br /> County EMS System. SORS provides the ambulance and one (1) EMT; OCES provides one (1) <br /> Paramedic. This ambulance operates in the same manner as all other ambulances in the Orange <br /> County EMS System. <br /> SORS currently provides "surge" coverage EMS response and ambulance transport services <br /> through OCES to the citizens of Orange County at times of overload to the existing county <br /> resources. <br /> SORS currently provides EMS response and ambulance service for fire or other large incident <br /> "Rehab and Support" whenever requested by OCES or any fire department or law enforcement <br /> agency within Orange County. <br /> SORS currently provides EMS special event transport services for"Special Events"within <br /> Orange County including: various large gatherings such as street festivals, road races, and <br /> triathlons. <br /> SORS currently provides EMS special event transport services by contract to the University of <br /> North Carolina at Chapel Hill for football games, men's and women's basketball games, indoor <br /> track competitions, ACC and NCAA championship events, baseball games, and NCHSAA High <br /> School football and basketball championship events, as well as other large gathering events such <br /> as concerts, commencement, and VIP visits. <br /> SORS currently provides EMS special event transport services for coverage of Chapel Hill/ <br /> Carrboro City School System's high school games. <br /> PO Box 128, Carrboro, NC 27510-0128 I 919.967.1515 I sors.us <br />
