SECTION Occupational Safety& Health <br /> STANDARD <br /> OPERATING S,O,G, No 402.02 <br /> GUIDELINES <br /> SUBJECT SCBA Training <br /> I PURPOSE. <br /> In the interest of Technical Rescue Team (TRT) member's health and safety, <br /> this document is established for the proper and safe procedures to prevent <br /> excessive exposure to dusts, fumes, mists, gases, smokes, sprays, and <br /> vapors by the use of respiratory protection. <br /> This standard establishes guidelines for the use, inspection and maintenance <br /> of self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and supplied air breathing <br /> apparatus (SABA). It was promulgated to: <br /> A. Establish a respiratory protection program. <br /> B. Provide a reasonable degree of assurance that an in-service SCBA or <br /> SABA will function properly. <br /> C. Require that any SCBAs or SABAs that do not function properly be <br /> removed from service and be repaired. <br /> D. Comply with the applicable rules, regulations, and standards concerning <br /> SCBA and SABA equipment. <br /> H. REFERENCES. <br /> A.
